A great tour because of its different landscapes
and beautiful views, and not only during the whale
season!
In the morning we collect you at your accommodation
in Cape
Town and take you through the Cape Flats
and a short visit to the townships up to Sir Lowry’s
Pass. From there you have a wonderful view of False
Bay, the Cape Flats and Table Mountain.
We drive through productive fruit farms around Grabouw
and over the Houw Hoek Pass to the Botrivier valley
and then towards the coast at Hermanus.
Hermanus is the main site in South Africa for whale-watching
during the whale season (from June to October). With
a little bit of luck and when the sea is quiet you
will be able to watch the whales very close to the
land. Hermanus is the only town in the world that
has a whale crier.
From Hermanus we follow the coast via Kleinmond and
Betty’s Bay and then via a wonderfully scenic
coastal road along False Bay to Gordons Bay. Depending
on the available time, we will visit an historic
wine farm, which is well known for its beautiful
restored old buildings and stunning landscape with
trees declared as national monuments (this depends
on how much time was spent in watching whales).
We will then take you back to your accommodation
in Cape Town.
