(4 days incl. 3 nights
accommodation)
The most diversified of
our tours, experience unforgettable landscapes and
many different towns with this beautiful trip!
Day 1:
In
the morning we will collect you at your accommodation
in Cape Town and travel through the Winelands, Worcester
and the Breede River Valley on the way to Montagu.
In Montagu we will have a short walk to see the
centre of the town with its beautiful old houses,
many of them are national monuments. We continue
north of the Langeberge Mountains to the Little
Karoo. There we drive along the foot of the Swartberg
Mountains to Oudtshoorn. In Oudtshoorn we will
have an afternoon tour at one of the ostrich farms
and get some rest at the pool of a beautiful Bed & Breakfast
where we are staying for the night.
Day
2:
In the morning we will take
a tour of the Cango Caves, one of the biggest and most
beautiful stalactite caverns in the world. Afterwards
you will have the opportunity for a tour at a Wildlife
ranch for having a closer look at predators, crocodiles
and other South African animals (entrance fee not included
in our price). From
Oudtshoorn we drive over the Outeniqua Pass with its
fantastic views of the coastal plain and the Indian
Ocean to George. From George station you take a famous
historic steam train (Outeniqua
Choo Choo) for a ride
to Sedgefield, taking you along the coast of the Indian
Ocean. Your driver / tourguide picks you up at Sedgefield
and takes you to Knysna, where we will stay for the
next two nights. In the evening we will have a walk
through the city to the waterfront.
Day
3:
After breakfast we will
drive along the Garden Route via Plettenberg Bay to
Tsitsikamma National Park. There you will have the
opportunity for a short walk through natural forest
to the hanging bridge over Storms River mouth. Afterwards
you might want to have lunch at the Cheese Farm, situated
in a beautiful natural setting. On the way back to
Knysna you can either feed elephants at the Elephant
Park or have some free time at Plettenberg Bay or Knysna
for shopping, sightseeing or just to relax. Late afternoon
we take you up to Knysna Heights for an unforgettable
view over Knysna lagoon and the Indian Ocean. We spend
the night at the same guesthouse as the night before.
Day
4:
We return to Cape Town along a coastal
route, passing Mossel Bay on the way to Albertinia,
where we have the chance to get to know something
about cultivation and additives of the Aloe plant.
From Albertinia we drive through farmlands to Swellendam,
the third oldest town in South Africa. In Swellendam
we will have a short walk through historic parts
of town before we continue via Caledon and the huge
fruit farms around Grabouw to Sir Lowry’s Pass.
From top of the pass you will have a fantastic
view of False Bay, the Cape Flats and Table Mountain.
We drive through the Cape Flats back to your accommodation
in Cape Town.
